Have you ever thought about running for elected office but have no idea where to start? Are you a Riga resident and registered Democrat? Are you interested in making a difference in the community you live in?
The Riga Democratic Committee can help!
The purpose of the Riga Democratic Committee is to recruit, support, and promote local candidates for election in Churchville, Riga, and Monroe County. If you're interested in any of the following positions coming up for election in 2021, contact us ASAP so we can get the ball rolling!
At our Organizational Meeting on October 1, the committee elected Colleen Anderson as the new Leader/Chairman. Colleen currently works at the County of Monroe. The committee also elected Bonnie Loser as Secretary, and John Loser continues as Treasurer.
We will continue to hold all meetings virtually, via Zoom videoconference, for the foreseeable future. If you would like a link to attend our meeting, please contact Colleen Anderson at colleen@rigademocrats.org.
Check this site for meeting location updates every month as conditions change. Once cleared to return, we will resume in-person meetings at Churchville-Chili Middle School, room 3536. Enter through door 24.
The Middle School is on the main school district campus on Fairbanks Road. It is the first building on the left. The meeting room is on the left-hand side, near the building entrance.
Beginning in November 2020, the committee will meet on the first Wednesday of each month. This allows members to also attend the Riga Town Board meetings on the second Wednesday of each month.
